Are we eating right: Time wise.

In good olden days, our ancestors followed fixed eating habits. In those days there was no  (advent) electricity. They used to assess time by watching sun rise, sunset. Normally woke-up to cocks wake up call.

They used to get up early morning between 4 am -5 am do their work. There was no regular/ fixed breakfasts that time. They used to eat fermented rice early morning. There were no teas/ coffees. This fermented rice is very good for health. It keeps the body cool. This fermented rice is made by soaking cooked rice in milk  and adding small amount of curd leaving it overnight.

The lunch timings would be between 12 noon to 1 pm. If there are any snacks they used to consume in between 3pm to 3.30 pm. The dinners are always at the time of lighting the lamp. Then after some time may be at 8pm or utmost 9pm they used to sleep.

These people our grand parents and their parents used to be very healthy and used to do really hard work to sustain themselves.Gents used to work in the fields, rear cattle, bring water from far off places by foot all these activities are daily in nature and do most of the work under the blazing sun.

While their gents are toiling under the sun the ladies used to thrash rice and remove the husk, thrash other foods like chilly powder,turmeric, Bengal gram etc and grind the Dals for breakfast with their bare hands as there were no home appliances then. In spite of this they used to have good immunity and strong.

Added to this they used to give birth to many healthy babies. Now a days our lifestyle has changed dramatically with the change in the sleeping hours our health started deteriorating. After the advent of Electricity and along with the invention of multiple home appliances our life has become easy and we started entertaining ourselves.

This entertainment has no limits, we started watching late night movies and started working late night shifts and we have slowly cheating our sleep time. Along with this our eating habits have also changed.

Like us Foods have become cosmopolitan and faraway foods like noodles, pizzas, burgers, steaks etc have sneaked into our menu. Our very own foods have been forgotten.Olden people drank more of buttermilk and less of milk, now a days we drink mostly the coffees, teas and cold beverages.
As we started working late and reaching homes late even our dinners are becoming late.

We started eating or drinking from the time we get up to the time we go to sleep. Ultimately our biological clock has changed, sleeping disorders became prevalent and many health problems have started cropping up and we started visiting health professionals for variety of ailments.

So the time has come to change ourselves and our unhealthy living habits, this is to protect first ourselves and the future generations. We all have 24 hours irrespective of whoever we are, what is best time to have food in a day. According to Ayurveda best time to have food is between sun rise to sun set.

Sleep early wake up early. This simple should be our lifestyle. When ever we cheat this or live away from this our health gets complicated and various ailments will crop up.

Here we are really breaking fast by eating after a long period of fasting say if we have eaten around 6pm previous day and if we eat our breakfast at 9am following day, the gap is of 15 hours, which is equal to more than half day fasting with this all the last meal of the day was properly digested and we gave enough time for the digestive system along with Liver to rest and repair itself.

If the process of glucose metabolism is complete and enough rest was given for liver, it starts curing/healing the body. This process is called as autophagia. In our body liver plays a major role in metabolism of food and eliminating unwanted and harmful, dangerous substances. To do this process we have to give ample time for the Liver to heal.

Following this dietary regimen we can reduce our body weight naturally without much effort. We can cure all Insomniacs, Health related problems and other daily tensions just by sticking to the normal biological clock.
